CHINESE THERAPEUTIC ACTIONS

DOSAGE
10 to 15 grams in decoction. Nu Zhen Zi is also used as paste or pills. The unprocessed herb has a stronger effect to nourish yin and moisten dryness, and is commonly used to treat dizziness, vertigo and constipation. The steamed herb (with grain-based liquor) has a stronger effect to tonifie the Liver and Kidney, and is commonly used to treat dizziness, vertigo, tinnitus, blurred vision, and prematurely gray hair.
CAUTIONS I CONTRAINDICA TIONS
• Use of Nu Zhen Zi is contraindicated for patients who have yang deficiency, or deficiency and cold of the Spleen and Stomach, characterized by diarrhea.
