CHINESE THERAPEUTIC ACTIONS
1. Retains Blood and Stops Bleeding
2. Activates Blood Circulation, Eliminates Stagnation
3. Promotes Urination
DOSAGE
3 to 10 grams in decoction. Wrap PU Huang in cheese- cloth during decoction. It may be used internally or topically. The unprocessed herb activates blood circulation, removes blood stasis, and relieves pain, while the charred herb stops bleeding.
CAUTIONS I CONTRAINDICATIONS
• PU Huang is contraindicated during pregnancy, as it may stimulate uterine contractions.
• PU Huang is contraindicated in the absence of blood stagnation.
