CHINESE THERAPEUTIC ACTIONS
1. Clears Liver Fire
2. Clears Hot Phlegm, Disperses Stagnation, and Resolves Nodules
3. Lowers Blood Pressure
DOSAGE
10 to 15 grams. The maximum dosage of Xia Ku Cao is 100 grains. Xia Ku Cao may be used singly or in an herbal formula. The flower is commonly used as the medicinal part of the plant. The entire plant, however, does have stronger potency than the flower for lowering blood pressure.
CAUTIONS I CONTRAINDICATIONS
• Cold in thermal nature, Xia Ku Cao should be used with caution in patients with Spleen and Stomach deficiencies.
