CHINESE THERAPEUTIC ACTIONS
1. Stops Cough, Relieves Wheezing
2. Lubricates the Intestines to Promote Bowel Movement
DOSAGE
5 to 10 grams in decoction. Unprocessed Su Zi functions more effectively to lower qi downwards and relieve coughing and wheezing. Dry-frying the herb moderates the overall effect, but increases the extraction of active constituents. Honey-baked, the herb has a better effect to moisten the Lung and relieve dry coughing.
CAUTIONS I CONTRAINDICA TIONS
• Su Zi is contraindicated for patients with loose stools or Spleen qi deficiency.
